CGI Windows No Longer Available as PGT Streamlines Product Lines
If you’ve been researching CGI windows for your Sarasota home, there’s been a recent change worth knowing about. According to CGI Impact Resistant Windows & Doors, they are now part of the PGT portfolio. The company says the change is meant to support product quality and customer service.
For homeowners in the St. Petersburg and Sarasota areas, the main takeaway is simple: some window and door lines that were once sold under the CGI name are no longer available that way. The good news is that if you’re shopping for impact-rated windows and doors, you still have options.
What Happened to CGI Windows?
The short version: CGI’s Sentinel line was discontinued as part of MITER Brands’ 2025 restructuring, while the Sparta and Scout lines continue under PGT as Sparta by PGT and Scout by PGT. CGI is now part of the PGT portfolio, and legacy CGI resources now direct homeowners to PGT.
In practical terms, that means:
- Sentinel products are no longer available
- CGI is now part of the PGT portfolio
- Legacy CGI product resources are still available online
- Homeowners can still access warranty, approvals, and care information for existing CGI products
Impact on Florida Homeowners
If you’re buying windows or doors for the first time, this change may sound bigger than it really is. It does not mean that quality impact products suddenly disappeared. Homeowners across Sarasota and the barrier islands can still access well-built products designed for storm protection, salt air, and everyday durability.
What matters now is choosing the right replacement option for your home. That includes the product itself, but also the installer, the approvals, and how well the line fits your home’s style and exposure.
What About Existing CGI Windows?
If you already have CGI impact windows or doors in your home, there is no reason to assume anything is wrong. These products were built for long-term use, and CGI continues to provide legacy support resources for warranty information, care and maintenance details, and approvals and certifications.
That said, discontinued lines can become harder to support over time. If you have existing CGI products, it is smart to keep your paperwork, model information, and purchase records in a safe place. It is also worth checking support information sooner rather than later if you think you may need parts or documentation down the road.
Alternatives to CGI Windows
PGT Impact Windows
PGT is the most natural place to start if you were originally looking at CGI. Since CGI is now part of the PGT portfolio, many homeowners will want to start by reviewing PGT’s current impact-rated window and door lines.
For homes near the water, including areas like Bird Key, St. Pete, and Casey Key, PGT remains a solid option for hurricane protection, everyday performance, and styles that work well in coastal homes.
Other Quality Manufacturers
Sarasota homeowners also have access to several other strong brands, depending on the project:
- WinDoor: A strong fit for large openings and more upscale coastal homes
- Kolbe: Known for customization and architectural flexibility
- Marvin: A premium option with broad design flexibility
- Euro-Wall: Often a good fit for modern homes and expansive openings
- Signature Doors: A practical choice for dependable impact protection
Not every brand is right for every house. The best choice depends on the look you’re after, the size and type of your openings, your location, and your budget.

Making Your Decision
If CGI was the brand you had in mind, this change does affect the conversation. But it does not put you in a bad position. There are still very good products available.
This is where local guidance matters. A home on the bay, a house closer to the Gulf, and a property farther inland may all have different priorities. Wind exposure, salt air, maintenance expectations, sightlines, and architectural style all play a role. The goal is not just to pick a familiar brand. It is to choose a product that fits your home and performs the way it should.
Moving Forward After CGI
The move is more of a product-line consolidation than a situation where homeowners are left without good options. Homeowners still have access to excellent impact-rated products that make sense for coastal Florida living.
The next step is to focus on what matters most for your project now: performance, appearance, approvals, and installation. A local team like All Glass & Windows can help you compare today’s options and narrow in on what makes the most sense for your home.
