When you invest in new impact windows or doors, the product itself is only part of the picture. What happens if a baseball goes through a pane? What about glass that takes a hit during a storm? That’s where warranty coverage starts to matter, and it’s where a lot of homeowners get caught off guard.
At All Glass & Windows, we include the PGT Crystal Care warranty at no additional charge on eligible PGT WinGuard products. That’s not standard. Most of our competitors either don’t offer it or charge extra for it. Our standing with PGT is what makes this possible, and it’s one of the more practical advantages of buying from a dealer that’s genuinely plugged into the manufacturer.
Here’s what Crystal Care actually covers.
The Standard PGT Warranty: Good, But With Gaps
PGT backs its products with a solid limited warranty. Frame and finish coverage, glass integrity, hardware, and moving parts: it’s a well-structured baseline that reflects how seriously PGT stands behind its products.
But the standard warranty is built around manufacturing defects and material failures under normal conditions. It doesn’t cover what happens when something breaks outside that scenario: a stray object, flying debris during a storm, or glass that fractures from an impact that wasn’t a manufacturing flaw.
That’s the gap Crystal Care fills.
What Crystal Care Adds
Crystal Care is a premium upgrade that adds two specific coverages on top of the standard warranty.
Accidental Glass Breakage. If your glass breaks accidentally, not from a defect or a hurricane, Crystal Care covers replacement. For families with kids, for homes on busy streets, or for anyone who’s ever had a projectile end up somewhere unexpected, this is real-world coverage for real-world situations.
Hurricane Glass Breakage. If a hurricane breaks your glass, Crystal Care covers the replacement of the affected units. In Sarasota, this one speaks for itself. Even impact-rated glass is designed to withstand hurricane-force winds, not to be indestructible. Having a warranty that specifically addresses glass breakage caused by a hurricane is meaningful coverage in a coastal market.
These aren’t theoretical protections. They’re the situations Florida homeowners actually worry about.
Why We’re Able to Include It at No Extra Cost
Crystal Care isn’t available to every dealer or every customer at no charge. We’re able to include it because of the relationship we’ve built with PGT. As an authorized PGT dealer with strong standing in the program, we can pass this coverage on to our customers without tacking it onto the invoice.
When you’re comparing bids on an impact window or door project, price matters, but so does what you’re actually getting. A lower quote without Crystal Care and a comparable quote that includes it aren’t the same offer, even if the numbers look similar on paper.
A Few Practical Details to Know
Crystal Care coverage is activated at the time of installation. The accidental glass breakage and hurricane glass breakage warranties apply to the original homeowner only and are not transferable. All other warranty coverage under Crystal Care is transferable to a subsequent owner. If you’re selling your home and want to pass along coverage, ask us what applies to your specific products before closing.
To keep coverage valid, the products need to be maintained according to PGT’s care guidelines. That mostly comes down to regular cleaning with mild soap and water, avoiding harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, and skipping window films or aftermarket coatings that aren’t approved. If you’re near the coast on Siesta Key, Longboat Key, Casey Key, or Bird Key, PGT notes that salt-air environments require more frequent attention to keep hardware and finishes performing well and to keep your warranty in good standing.
If you ever need to make a claim, start with us. We’ll help you work through the process with your sales order information on hand.
The Bottom Line
Most people shopping for impact windows focus on the product rating and the installation price. Fewer ask about what happens after installation. Crystal Care is one of those details that doesn’t show up in a competitor’s quote unless you ask, and in many cases, it’s not there at all.
We include it because it’s the right thing to do for the homeowner, and because we’re in a position to offer it. If you’re getting estimates elsewhere, it’s worth asking specifically whether Crystal Care is part of the package.
Crystal Care is one of two premium upgrades we can include at no additional cost. If you haven’t read about PGT Triton Glass yet, it’s worth a look. Triton is next-generation laminated impact glass that’s up to 45% lighter and significantly clearer than traditional impact glass, and we’re one of only six dealers in Florida offering it at no charge through August 31, 2026. Crystal Care FAQs
No. The standard PGT warranty covers manufacturing defects and material failures. Crystal Care adds two separate coverages on top of that: accidental glass breakage and hurricane glass breakage. Those aren’t included in the base warranty.
Yes. Coverage must be activated at the time of installation. Your dealer handles this as part of the project. If you purchased PGT WinGuard products elsewhere and weren’t told about activation, contact your dealer to check your status.
That depends on your policy. Crystal Care specifically covers glass breakage caused by a hurricane, which standard homeowner’s insurance may or may not cover, depending on your deductible and exclusions. The two aren’t mutually exclusive, but Crystal Care can fill gaps that your insurance policy leaves open.
Crystal Care’s glass breakage coverage applies specifically to glass. The broader Crystal Care warranty package also includes coverage for frame and material defects for eligible products. If you’re unsure what’s covered for your specific order, ask your dealer to walk you through the warranty terms before installation.
Crystal Care availability at no cost to the customer is tied to a dealer’s standing with PGT. Not every dealer qualifies to include it as part of a standard project, which is why some charge extra for it or don’t offer it at all.
