If you’ve been getting quotes on impact windows or doors, here’s something worth knowing before you decide. We’re currently one of only six dealers in Florida offering PGT Triton Glass at no additional cost to the customer. That offer runs through August 31, 2026.
After that date, the terms change. So if you’re comparing proposals right now, this is a real difference between what you’d get from us and what most other dealers can offer.
Here’s what Triton Glass actually is, why it’s a meaningful upgrade over standard impact glass, and why very few dealers can include it at no charge.
What Is PGT Triton Glass?
PGT recently rebranded its premium glass upgrade, formerly called Diamond Glass, under the Triton name. The product itself hasn’t changed, just the name. It’s next-generation laminated impact glass, built using advanced thin-glass technology developed in partnership with Corning Incorporated, the same company behind Gorilla Glass used in smartphones and other high-durability applications.
This is not a decorative glass or a tinted option. It’s a structural upgrade to the glass itself, engineered specifically for the demands of hurricane zones like Florida’s Gulf Coast.
How It Compares to Standard Impact Glass
Standard PGT laminated impact glass is already excellent. It resists windborne debris, maintains structural integrity under pressure, and holds together if it does break. Triton Glass doesn’t change any of that. What it does is improve on it in three specific ways.
It’s significantly lighter. Triton Glass is up to 45% lighter than traditional impact glass. For everyday operation, the weight reduction is noticeable, especially on large sliding glass doors, bi-folds, and picture windows. Lighter glass puts less stress on hardware, hinges, and rollers, resulting in smoother operation on the day it’s installed and less wear over time. If you’ve toured homes with heavy impact sliders and noticed resistance when opening and closing, that’s partly due to weight. Triton addresses it directly.
It’s clearer. Standard laminated glass consists of multiple layers bonded together, and the interlayer and glass thicknesses can introduce haze and visual distortion. Subtle, but present, especially in large panels. Triton Glass reduces both. The view through it is noticeably cleaner and more transparent. For homes on Siesta Key, Longboat Key, Bird Key, or anywhere the water view is part of why you own the home, this matters. You’re making a significant investment in impact windows. Getting the clearest possible view through them isn’t a minor detail.
It’s harder to scratch. Triton Glass is approximately three times more scratch-resistant than standard impact glass. In Florida, where windows and doors are constantly exposed to sand, salt, and cleaning wear, that durability advantage compounds over the years of use. Sliders that see daily traffic are especially prone to fine-surface scratching from grit blown in from the beach. Triton holds up better against all of it.
Everything Else Stays the Same
Triton Glass still meets the same hurricane protection standards as traditional PGT laminated glass. It’s engineered for windborne debris resistance, break-in resistance, and pressure protection. You’re not trading any of the performance that makes PGT WinGuard and WinDoor products worth buying. You’re just getting better glass doing all of it.
It also offers the same noise reduction and UV-blocking properties as PGT laminated glass.
Why Only Six Dealers in Florida Can Offer It at No Charge?
Access to Triton Glass is included as an upgrade, not an add-on, and is tied to dealer standing with PGT. We’ve built that relationship over years of high-volume, high-quality installations and working closely with the manufacturer. Most dealers either don’t have access to Triton Glass at all or offer it only as a paid upgrade added to the invoice.
We’re including it at no additional cost because we can, and because a project with us should offer better overall value than a competitor’s quote, even when the line-item prices look similar on paper.
The August 31 Deadline
This isn’t a soft deadline. The no-cost offer on Triton Glass runs through August 31, 2026. After that, the program may continue under different terms or at an added cost. What we can tell you is that right now, if you sign a project with us, Triton Glass is included.
For homeowners who’ve been collecting quotes and waiting, this is a concrete reason to make a decision before the end of August.
What This Means Alongside Crystal Care
We’ve written separately about the PGT Crystal Care warranty, which we also include at no additional cost for dealers. Triton Glass and Crystal Care together represent two meaningful upgrades: better glass performance and extended warranty protection that covers accidental and hurricane glass breakage. Most of our competitors either can’t offer both or will charge you for them separately.
When you’re comparing bids, ask specifically whether both are included. In most cases, they won’t be.

Triton Glass FAQs
Yes. PGT recently renamed Diamond Glass to Triton Glass. The product is the same: next-generation laminated impact glass using advanced thin glass technology developed with Corning Incorporated. If you’ve seen references to Diamond Glass in older PGT materials, Triton is the current name for that product.
Yes. Triton Glass meets the same hurricane protection standards as traditional PGT laminated impact glass. It’s rated for windborne debris, pressure protection, and break-in resistance. The improvements in weight, clarity, and scratch resistance don’t come at the expense of impact performance.
No. The weight reduction comes from the thin-glass technology developed with Corning, not from reducing the laminate’s structural integrity. It’s engineered to be both lighter and stronger, with improved surface durability. The laminated construction that makes impact glass perform well in hurricanes remains unchanged.
We don’t control PGT’s pricing decisions after the promotional period ends. What we can tell you is that through August 31, 2026, we’re including it at no additional charge as one of only six dealers in Florida with access to this program. After that date, terms may change.
Triton Glass is available on PGT WinGuard and WinDoor products. If you’re comparing product lines or aren’t sure which applies to your project, ask us when you request a quote, and we’ll confirm which applies to your order.
